(Quotes appearing in the media that were off target.)

At a Wall Street Journal editorial board meeting in January 2008, GOP presidential candidate John McCain admitted he doesn't really understand economics. Look for this comment to become a campaign issue in the fall. One saving grace: The comment doesn't appar to have been recorded on video. McCain got lucky in that regard.

“. . . more Pakistani illegals (are) coming across our border than all other nationalities, except those immediately south of the border, and in light of what’s happening in Pakistan, it ought to give us pause.” Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, when asked to comment on the assassintation of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Huckabee's claim is wrong.
